Which lights should grow when charging

Just picked up a 2018 and noticed when I plug in the green light pulsates but they’re also is the red light just below it that is on. I read over the manual. I’m not quite sure but it seems like that red light should not be on.

If your car is charging you're fine. I believe the red LED just means instant charging as opposed to timer charging.

I noticed for the first time that, versus the above pic, the charging doesn’t glow red other than the two icons : one above the green light and one below.

In the original picture above the icons did not glow in red however, there was the solid red light under the bottom icon.

Not too sure what to make of the differences btwn pictures or if it matters, any advice is appreciated.

Rick in your photo it appears you are not using the Audi Charge unit?
Perhaps with the Audi Unit the red lights are not activated as they signal the Delay Timer Charge function?

You’re right I’m not using the Audi charger. I am using a 240V /12amp charge in a 6-15r that looks to be generating 2.3 kW per hour. I was going to try to plug in the Audi household socket with the Audi charger (and use a 6-15 adapter ) but I haven’t attempted that yet. Maybe the lights would be different but I would be surprised the charger makes the difference. I briefly tried the Audi charger in with the household socket in 110 V receptacle, but I didn’t take a look at the charging lights on the car.
