Follow-up to the "Chicken & Egg question" Was Audi the Engineering lead on the e-Tron - or VW with their Golf GTE?
I think this may be the answer - It is Audi. See this YouTube video - from 13 years ago - making the e-Tron a Show Concept model in 2111.

Looks a lot like the styling cues on the Sportback - but on the sedan. And the interior is super Show stuff but we see the dash with Power Meter and other items that came to the A3 in 2014.

This article shares a lot that did Not make it to the production Sportback...

Ah I completely forgot about the pure A3 EV prototype... But now that you mention it it makes sense that it was Audi that designed it. There was even a R8 full EV prototype for a while. This was during Audi's golden years.. Check out this awesome video:

Hello fellow A3 e-tron owners!

There are plenty of threads discussing problems, issues and dislikes... which are valid and necessary. I would however love for us to leverage this thread to share the things we love about this fantastic little ride. I'll get us started!

As a first time hybrid owner, I couldn't be happier with the fact that even with little EV only range, I'm able to shave off almost all gas use for most of my daily errands. The mileage per charge isn't much, but in practice, it's quite helpful :)

I hope at least some of you decide to hop onboard to spread a little positivity.

Let's hear it! What do you ❤️ about your A3 e-tron?
Sir: We have owned a 2016 Audi A3 etron since 2018, and have put 10K to 80K miles on it. Audi replaced the traction battery for free, but declined to let me pay the cost differential for the later, larger battery. In urban use, we get about 850-900 miles before refilling the gasoline tank with 8.5 gallons - about 100 miles per gallon of gasoline. We have driven to both coasts from MN, and only the Sprinter offers advantages, at a cost. I took this car to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Track as an instructor car 2019, and had a ball learning how to use regenerative braking to extend battery life. Ah yes; swapped Michelin 4S tires changed the experience. For better or worse, I am the de facto EV expert for taking EVs to HPDE events - education at racetracks for mortals.
Spare up in a rooftop box has been useful, once. Lumber on the Audi cross bars - worth the $ tariff because of OEM peg/hole lineups.
Only once was I caught in the low temp limit: -14F, requiring an hours' wait in a heated ambulance bay before I could drive home.
