So I own a 2016 Audi A3 etron premium and I love it. Odd thing is I’m almost certain it doesn’t have fog lights. Can fog lights be added in the factory location and if so how big of an issue is it? I’m going to upgrade to LED headlights anyway so. Please advise. Thank you.

You’re right, the 2016 Audi A3 e-Tron Premium doesn’t come with factory fog lights, but they can be added. If you want to install them in the factory location, you’ll need a fog light kit specific to the A3 model. The installation involves adding the lights, wiring, and a new switch or integration into the existing headlight controls and electricals. If you’re comfortable with DIY projects, it could be a fun weekend upgrade. It’s not overly complicated. If you’re not confident with the electrical work, just have a car shop or dealership work on it.

My premium '16 has a functioning factory fog light switch that lights up and turns off, but no fogs. I wonder if the wiring is also in place

Perhaps if the switch is there the wiring is as well. That means the install would be an easy Dealer install option. May only require installing the Fog Lamps - and using an OBD11 to activate the Lights. These cars have many options that can be enabled just using the OBD11 on lower trim models, that would be standard on the up scale car model. And in some cases - I have a 2017 SEL Golf - I have added options only available in Europe.

I believe our A3 E-Trons from the 2016 and including the facelifted 2017+ cars have "all-weather" lights that are located inside the headlight housing. They should also act as a cornering light when you turn at low speeds or use your turn signal at a stand still. Pressing the top button in the attached image will keep them on as long as your main beams are on. (No, you can't drive with just the "fogs" on.;))

Granted, these lights don't aesthetically look like traditional fog lights when you're looking at the front of the car.
