My A3 e-tron is having charging problems. The charger light stays red, and I can't change the charging settings. When I plug it in, the lights flash and then stay red. There are no errors, and the car works fine. I had the car serviced recently. Could that have messed up the charging?

I'm not sure what could be causing the charging issue with your A3 e-tron. It's possible that something during the recent service affected the charging system, but it could also be a problem with the charger itself or a software glitch.

I had a similar issue with my A3 e-tron where the charging light would stay red, and it turned out to be an issue with the connection to the charging port. Sometimes the plug can get a bit loose, especially if there’s dust or debris in there. Try giving the plug and the port a quick clean and make sure it’s plugged in securely. If that doesn’t work, you might want to check with your dealer, especially since it started happening after the service. Maybe they accidentally reset or disabled something related to charging. 🤔

Oh no, I totally feel your pain—I had a similar problem with my e-tron right after getting it serviced. In my case, the service team had reset some settings that affected the charging system, and it took a second visit to get it straightened out. My advice would be to contact the dealership and let them know this started happening right after the service. There’s a chance they might have inadvertently changed a setting or missed reconnecting something in the charging circuit. It might just be a quick fix, but better to have them double-check!

Hey! A red charging light typically points to an issue with the connection or the charging system itself. Given that you recently had it serviced, there’s a possibility something was reset or an update wasn’t properly configured for the charging system. Sometimes after a service, software updates or reconfigurations can interfere with charging settings. I’d recommend a soft reset on the vehicle’s charging settings (if that’s possible) or disconnecting and reconnecting the charger to see if it resets. If you’re still stuck, the dealership should be able to run a diagnostic and figure out if the service affected it. Good luck!

Sorry to hear about the charging issue! That’s always frustrating, especially when everything else seems fine. I’ve had my A3 e-tron act up a few times like that, and it was usually down to a small issue in the charger itself. Since it started right after your service, it could definitely be something they changed or missed during the check-up. It’s probably worth giving them a call and explaining that the problem started post-service, sometimes they just need to reset the system, and you’re good to go. Hope it’s an easy fix for you! 🙏
