I have a 2018 A3 eTron on order, and a baby on the way! Just wondering if a current owner could provide the dimensions of the rear hatch as we shop for strollers and other baby gear. I couldn’t seem to find it on the specs Audi provides online.

I dont have dimensions handy, but as a father I can tell you things fit -snugly. I mean I'm comparing it to our Nissan Murano which has lots of room for kids and stuff. But in the A3 the rear facing seats require front seats to be fairly far forward, so you'll want it on the passenger side. Our full sized stroller (the type that has removable baby carrier that snaps in to the car seat base) doesn't fold up too far, but the handlebar flips up making it just fit in the trunk.

So all in all I think it's designed for standard parenting needs, but I'm sure someone can locate a spec sheet somewhere. Otherwise I'd suggest to go visit your dealer :)

As you know, the hatch isn't a perfect cube so take my measurements as rough.

I measured my 2018's hatch cargo mat at the low point (not at the top of the lip) and it measures around 37" across and 26.5" deep.

I also measured:
(1) the opening at the strike plate at 34" across;
(2) the height from the hatch's top, left-corner opening to the floor at 24.75"
(3) The width of the hatch at its widest spots at 42"
(4) the depth from the carpeted lip to the lower back of the seat at 29"

Edit: Wow, I didn't realize how old the initial question was. I only paid attention to the date of Emma's post! Oh well. I wonder how well the trunk served EtronFreak69 and with his kid being about 7 now.
