How many kw/h to charge from zero

I was able to add 6.2kWh on a charge point today.

just got a used 2018 A3 etron with 82k km, in Canada, nicely equipped technik ; at home i have a 220 v set up and using 12A charger (15A breaker) and takes 2hr 20min to charge...don't know how many kwh the car is accepting at home although i have one charge point charge of 5.7kwh.

at home I was getting on the dash 33/34km...as i try to figure out real life kms vs the calculated estimate....learning here...i was able to get 33km actual on 33km estimate...usually it doesn't come close but i had a longer 43km trip.

When i returned home and recharged the dash shows the highest amount i have seen todate, 39kms...probably the computer is using this recent actual to recompute to a higher figure...i don't know if the 39k km is the new norm or not? i don't imagine the battery all of a sudden gets to accept more than 5.7kwr....so the 39km to empty is probably based on the math on recent actual history .

lastly, i was able to see a document that shows the useable portion of the batter to be 6.2kwh....which contradicts the 7.0kwh useable i read in a self study guide of Audi's. But it sounds like ill be able to charge 6kwh max into the car. Here in BC Canada, I pay $.14 per kwh....so a charge to full is 84c CAD. Charge point charges .30/kwh CAD and i paid $1.75Cad for the 5.7kwh charge.

Regarding the 6.2kWh vs 7kWh usable, this is due to NA having a different BMS software which locks a higher percentage of the battery here than it does in Europe. You'll generally see people in Europe report a higher actual range achieved as well. Sucks but technically this larger reserve makes our cars more resilient to degradation. Oh well, my pack degraded severely already but I've got a replacement on the way now.

Oh well, my pack degraded severely already but I've got a replacement on the way now.

Thanks! What was your charge per full? 6 ish? How did you determine your battery needed replacement ? Warranty? Is this a self rest to do. Or indicators I can watch for? I have an OBD11 and it revels a lot of info under live data.

I posted a thread about this. Unfortunately, my home charger does not provide me with any data. My best guess is 3.5kWh and less due to the fact it takes just around an hour on 240v for a full charge from empty.

From what I gathered Audi Canada does not care much about degradation and reduction of range. The only sure way to get a replacement is with a hybrid-related fault code. We have 2 of these cars, both 2017 Technik. The other one is pretty similar to your car in battery performance - 8/8 bars and a high 30s estimated range. I wouldn't worry about it much, your battery is still very healthy.

Is that hour time to charge on your new battery?? Or old problematic one?
