Has anyone had success with the Audi App to determine car's security, control temperature, close/open windows etc? If so what app are you using? Have you had any issues with the App?

Thanks
Brett

It is a little silly how many apps there are.

For the 2017 I just purchased, the myAudi app does absolutely nothing. Doesn't have all the same information as what is on https://www.audiusa.com/myaudi/overview

I've been working with support because the previous owner is still listed on my car, and I can't get Audi Connect to work to even try it out because the VIN is registered under another account. They sent me a SIM card for some reason (which is AT&T and Audi branded). The card has a Verizon eSim in it already so I'm not sure why another SIM is needed. I've yet to get any of those functions to work, but I don't feel like I'm missing much.

Thee one app I DID get working is an outdated but a somewhat useful (completely different login, by the way...3 for this car so far)

Website is https://etron.audiusa.com/ and the app, on Android at least, is 'Audi A3 e-tron connect'. Shows charging status, lock status (but can't lock/unlock), and trip history. You can set the timer for the charging and to turn on the AC.

You can only make some security checks (no modifications) and turn on the preheating of the cabin.
You can also check your EV consumption history.
As said in my youtube channel for this car, this app never works when raining

Is there still a solution to remotely check the charging status of your e-tron for the 2015 models if you buy one today?
As I understand it, that functionality went away when the 3G cell network was turned off because Audi didn’t give the e-tron a path to upgrade the cellular modem, so those cars lost all their mobile data connections. (My a3 e-tron app quit working altogether, so maybe they turned that off at the back end, too.)

That capability is gone. A/Q series 4&5 received upgrades, but these upgrades were never offered for the 3 series at all. I investigated to determine if it would be worth paying to have the same upgrades installed in our 2017 A3 Sportback e-tron, but was told to forget it, because it would involve extensive rewiring, parts removal and replacement, and the chips in it were not software enabled for the A3 e-tron at all. I was also told that the A3 Connect capabilities came for “free” in our Audi, so we would not get an update, since we didn’t pay anything for it anyway. Then I was told by Audi USA to just “buy a new Audi”.

I think that you can feel my disgust with Audi’s lack of customer care.

Thanks a lot @dlinkA3 - I can feel it and I understand it completely.

It would just be very convenient to know to what extend your battery is charged, I'm even happy to connect an external communications device or anything. Maybe there's 3rd party solutions on the market?

We have a Siemens 32amp EVSE which we use to charge our A3 e-tron. It is always charged to the full amount allowed by Audi. There are no settings in our Audi allowing us to set the charging at any percentage, like is available in our Tesla. In our Audi, it is just “charge”. I have discovered that it only charges to ~6.2 kWh maximum on our 8.8 kWh battery pack (this was a few years ago), but that is only an estimate based on articles I have read. There is no way to determine that in any of our A3 Sportback e-tron’s software. It might have been available before Audi Connect disappeared, but nothing now. We have multiple apps for our Tesla Model 3 which give us that info and options to set the charging on level 2, but NOT on our Audi.
