80 mph in EV mode

I've noticed recently the car will not accelerate beyond 80mph in pure EV mode unless I "boost" it. I can have the pedal basically floored on the freeway and it will never go above 80 unless I boost. I've had my 2016 etron for almost 4 years and haven't noticed this before or perhaps every time I've tried above 80 I've been in Hybrid or Hold mode... I thought that at 80mph it would automatically switch over into some sort of ICE mode to continue accelerating without needing to be told to or "boosted."

I guess my question is... is this the same for everyone or is my car misbehaving?

I recently had a brand new hybrid battery installed and the charging system replaced.

80 mph? It's supposed to be speed limited to 85 mph in EV. That's how mine drives too. It won't go above 85 in EV.


It shouldn't be 80 mph.
